Sébastien FOLLET

Sebastien Follet is a Human Factors expert at French Civil Aviation Authorities (DGAC), where he works on air traffic control, but also on various safety projects concerning the renewal of materials and systems for air traffic controllers. His current work of air traffic controller and tower supervisor in Nantes includes the instruction on position and the Human Factors training of his co-workers in the whole Brittany, in order to fulfil to the European agency requirements. In the past, he has worked as air traffic controller at Paris-Roissy Charles De Gaulle airport, and as air traffic controller, instructor, tower chief, safety coordinator on the development of new tools and human factor facilitator at Paris-Le Bourget airport.

Member of the Flight Safety Foundation – European Assessment Committee, he shares his expertise on the making of video clips aiming Flight Safety and on the organisation of the annual Eurocontrol Safety Forum. Member of the DGAC Human Factors Thinking Group (GRFH), he regularly published articles for the Hindsight magazine. This aviation enthusiast works also for the Aerosentinelles group dedicated to improve the taking into consideration of mental health for aviation professionals. He particularly co-writes the Guide for a Mental Health Just Culture, and participates to the production of a dedicated minimum core knowledge guidebook and a list of accessible tools on this topic.

Sebastien is also a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and of the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP), giving time to share his expertise and concerns on Human Factors and Mental Health in aviation.

He has a degree in Human Factors Basis for the conception of Human-machine system in aeronautics from Paris Descartes University. He founded with Ludovic Mieusset the association The Human Tree that aims to promote Human Factors, delivering HF raising awareness session for Aero club pilots, as well as for healthcare workers. Involved in the early days of the Human Factors in healthcare System (Facteurs Humains en Santé), he helped to create and developed the association.

Sebastien has a private pilot license and fly regularly on DR-400 light airplane. His involvement in his aero club includes sessions to build awareness on HF aspects for the private pilots. Engaged in social activities, he had been President of GOELAN, an association in charge of providing social events and activities to the DGAC and Meteo-France workers of Nantes area, for 10 years.

Ludovic MIEUSSET

Ludovic Mieusset is a Human Factors expert at French Civil Aviation Authorities (DGAC), where he works on air traffic control, but also on various safety projects concerning the renewal of materials and systems for air traffic controllers. His current work of air traffic controller in Nantes includes the instruction on position and the human factors training of his co-workers in the whole Brittany, in order to fulfil to the European agency requirements. In the past, he has worked as military air traffic controller at Nancy Air Force Base and as a DGAC controller at Chavenay-Villepreux (Paris Area) and Grenoble- Le Versed (French Alps) airfields. During his military duty, he worked occasionally at Toul and Saint Dizier Air Force Bases. Also, under the SFOR banner, he worked at Sarajevo airport for few months. Here he was part of the Training Team that graduated the initial batch of local controllers. He followed a course in Human Factors Basis for the conception of Human-machine system in aeronautics from Paris Descartes University.

Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and of the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP), he has worked with Sébastien FOLLET since 2014.

Ludovic has a private pilot license and fly regularly on light aircraft. His involvement in his aero club includes sessions to build awareness on HF aspects for the private pilots. Every spring, he invites pilots and controllers to gather and exchange about issues encountered in the airspace where Rennes ATC provides his service, in order to enhance air safety and service quality. Furthermore, he followed a formation in Non-Violent Communication.
